I've been approached by a non-profit to recommend hosting. And quite
frankly, I'm not sure where to go on this one.
They're requirements are modest - 200MB disk space and 1GB/mo. bandwidth
are more than enough for what they have. More would be OK - they want
the ability to expand.
They also need a small number of email lists (double opt-in with
moderation option) and the usual PHP, MySQL (small database), etc.
The only other thing I might have problems with is they need secure
protocol, so they need an SSL certificate. It could be shared, as long
as it is recognized by browsers.
I do see beachcomber.net has the option to purchase an InstantSSL
certificate. But I'm not sure if that is recognized by browsers as well
as Thawte, etc.
As always, price is a concern. But they're not looking for $0.99/mo.
hosting. Reliability is more important, and they understand they need
to pay a reasonable price for that reliability.
Thanks for any suggestions.
