This sentence conveyed the meaning well for me, although 'standing alone'
it sounds German-like/ wrongly ordered:
That is the reason why
I am going to devote to it a good deal of my next lecture.

For me it fits well after:
  Even sculpture does not help: for that also -in total contrast to,
for example, Germany - remained without a firm progressive direction for
about a century, a specially interesting fact, I think, because the
Perpendicular style is about the most English creation in architecture.

I would have said:
That is the reason why
I am going to devote a good deal of my next lecture to it.

But that loses the meaning.
What is the rule?
So that I too can write like that - for my pro se litigation?

What's the rule/tips for structuring compound sentences?

== TIA.
